I think the sims4 is more popular because a lot of new simmers have only been introduced to the sims4. One of these games is quite obviously better than the other, and it really isn’t a matter of opinion anymore lmao 😭 And then they say you can’t compare the sims 3 and 4 because the sims 4 isn’t a finished game… but the sims 4 should’ve been finished YEARS AGO! And the sims 4 already has as much if not more content than the sims 3. And then they say that the sims 3 is worse about cash grabbing because of the store, as if exclusive content sets that don’t really add a whole lot to gameplay is at all comparable to packs being broken up into separate, overpriced DLCs that could’ve been one expansion pack. They defend EA for their cash grabbing schemes, like parenthood and growing together being separate packs that cost $60 combined, whereas generations is one pack that in all honesty is probably more fully fledged that costs only $20. That being said, the ride or die sims 4 players always crack me up.

A lot of sims 4 players have never played the earlier games and don’t know what they’re missing out on, and it doesn’t help that the sims 3 isn’t really as user friendly.

During the sims 3’s prime, social media was pretty much in its infancy, but when sims 4 came out in 2014, youtube let’s plays were already well established, and then with tik tok eventually becoming as popular as it did, it was easier than ever for the game to basically be advertised to people who normally wouldn’t play it. Tbh I think the only reason why sims 4 is so popular is because of social media.
